Halloween shopping in NYC with Duane Reade, CVS and Collective Bias
No matter what the state of world affairs, the crestfallen economy, whether you’re a die-hard supporter of Obama or the Tea Party, or are a working vs. stay-at-home mom there is one common thread that unties families and it’s called Halloween. This year I think we all could use a dose of unreality as our kids prepare to deck themselves out like ghoulish goblins and creepy emerald-faced witches, while we parents adorn our houses in flickering orange lights, jack-o-lanterns, and cottony cobwebs.
Let’s face it- Halloween is the ONE Holiday a year when we can shed our “adult, needs to be so mature, responsible and parental persona” and join our kids in some good old-fashioned fun!
It’s that one day when we’re given a sanctioned reprieve from adulthood and encouraged to shed our inhibitions, don our costumes, eat a bit more candy than we’re used to and basically indulge in the fantasy that is Halloween.. Personally I CANNOT wait- I’m probably more excited than my kids!
So, in honor of ALL things Halloween, the Spooktacular, Booriffic and Fangtatsic ( AM I getting annoying with all these silly references yet!) I did a a little shopping at Duane Reade and CVS to check out the Halloween inventory and let me just say… I WANT IT ALL!

My son has promised me he will work for the next year as my personal butler if we buy him this life-sized skeleton from CVS
My daughter always manages to find a BOA no matter where we go ( this one is at the costume section at CVS)
And here is my son getting his skeleton dance on ( I just like this video because it reminds me of the good old eighties!)
So if you’re looking for great deals on candy corn- get thee to a Duane Reade need life-sized outdoor decorations that will bring all the kids to your yard- get thee to a CVS.
For all the goodies in store for you at Duane Reade (and at CVS) which will certainly help you in your Halloween prep check out my picture adventure at INTERSECT
So dear readers this Halloween let us all unite and for a few brief moments (okay in our case- weeks) let us all grasp for the same fleeting moment of mad-cap mayhem and pure enjoyment- dressing up in costumes, stuffing our faces with sweets and feasting on Halloween-themed movies, TV shows, and devouring all the fabulous products that are just out there ripe for the taking….
This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias but as is always the case all opinions are my own.
