New year, new me thank you Special K for the inspiration

Of course I also know a large component of any weight management, and hopefully weight loss is my diet. My eating habits while not horrible-are probably not helping me either. I need some kind of action plan– someone to tell me- here is what you need to eat, if you stick to this plan– you will lose weight.

The Special K Challenge- I’m taking it!

I don’t think I was ready to listen to this before…but I’m ready now. Which is why I knew it was FATE, that the Motherhood contacted me on behalf of The Special K brand Recognizing women need flexibility in their plans and tools at their fingertips, the Special K brand has created a variety of new, complimentary tools to help women looking to kick-start their weight management journey:customize their own plan in the New Year at SpecialK.com.

I’m taking the Special K Challenge- who’s with me?!

In an effort to change the way women think and talk about weight management, the Special K brand has marked January 2, 2012 as National Weigh-In Day. If you are one of the many women who have made a resolution to get back on track this year, they are inviting you to “weigh in” on the topic of weight management and share what you hope to gain when you lose in the New Year!

So what are these SPECIAL K TOOLS you ask?

SpecialK.com: The site features updated, free personalized weight management plans. Additionally, at SpecialK.com, women can plan, receive weight management support from the brand community and get customized newsletters and get SUPPORT.

My Special K: This new online community is a place for women to design a personalized weight management plan that fits her individual needs. Here visitors can customize a weight management plan and also find inspiration, advice, tools and a supportive community.

The Special K Challenge: A simple, great-tasting way to lose up to six pounds in two weeks. (Consult your physician before starting any diet or exercise program. Average weight loss when replacing meals with two cereal meals is 4.8 pounds. Weight loss may vary. Average waist circumference reduction when replacing meals with two cereal meals is 1.3 inches.)

So of course I have JUMPED in with two feet and have officially started the The Special K Challenge:and twice a day rather than indulging in my toasted bagel with butter for breakfast and my not so sensible sandwich for lunch I’ll be replacing those two meals a day with Special K products-which include protein shakes cereal bars meal bars, snack bars, fruit crisps crackers and chips protein water mixes- specifically tailored to my lifestyle, and THANK GOODNESS this diet plan includes SNACKS!! did i mention how cool that is and how terrified I am all at once? And for dinner I am to eat a well balanced meal– and LUCKILY special K has a plethora of recipes to aid me in choosing that third meal wisely! Honestly I had NO idea that one of my favorite cereals Special K, had a whole line of foods I could eat which were infused with protein and ACTUALLY tasted good ( not all carboard boxey and dietetic) but like food I’d want to eat anyhow- and I could eat it instead of two meals a day and the kicker– LOSE WEIGHT in the process- who’s winning now Charlie sheen?!

Today is the first day of my Special K challenge and I am DETERMINED to lose six pounds in two weeks! And each day of my two week plan- I am given exactly which foods to eat for breakfast and lunch- so it’s screw up free. Today for breakfast my plan (which I signed up as someone on the go, who likes things simple and easy) constitutes:

Breakfast Special K® Protein Plus Cereal Breakfast with Fruit and Milk

Morning Snack Special K® Chocolatey Chip Cookie Cereal Bar

Lunch Special K™ French Vanilla Protein Shake Lunch with Fruit

Afternoon Snack Special K™ Chocolate Peanut Protein Snack Bar

Dinner Chicken Fajita Dinner with Dessert

And in addition to following these meal plans each day, to get things off on the right track I’ll be journaling my moods, weight and exercise levels so I can see which patterns encourage success or setbacks. I CHALLENGE you to join me!! We can do this together one day at a time!

Of course: Consult your physician before starting any diet or exercise program. Average weight loss when replacing meals with two cereal meals is 4.8 pounds. Weight loss may vary. Average waist circumference reduction when replacing meals with two cereal meals is 1.3 inches. Weight loss may vary.

I participated in this program through a partnership with TheMotherhood on behalf of Special K. I received product and supplies to complete the plan. All opinions and statements are based on my own opinion and experience.

It is great you are being so consistent with the exercise. I joined a gym in Sept, but I slacked off over the holidays
